Firearms licensing after bereavement

When a loved one passes away, it may be hard to keep up with all the different things that have to be arranged and managed. We understand that you may not be familiar with the law in respect of firearms, shotguns, air weapons and ammunition, and this guidance will help explain the considerations and options you will have if guns form part of the estate of a certificate holder who has recently passed away.

If you are a family member of a certificate holder who has recently passed away, please follow this guidance: Dealing with bereavement.

If you are a Certificate Holder you can assist your family at the time of your passing by following this guidance: Certificate Holder guidance.
