Two arrested in connection with Edinburgh attempted robberies

An 18-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man have been arrested in connection with two attempted robberies in Edinburgh.

Around 9.30am on Monday, 12 January, 2026, we received a report from a premises on Colinton Mains Drive.

Later, around 9.50am, we received a second report from a premises on Oxgangs Road North.

There were no reports of injuries.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

Inspector Paul Begley said: “I’d like to thank the local community for their support as we responded to these reports. We’re aware of inaccurate information being shared regarding these incidents and I’d ask the public not to speculate on the circumstances.”
