Officers investigating the murder of Jordan Gray in Motherwell have revisited the area four weeks on to speak to members of the public.

Jordan, 26, suffered fatal firearm injuries at his home on Shields Court on the night of Sunday, 14 December, 2025. His body was discovered the following day and a murder investigation was launched.

On Sunday, 11 January, 2026, detectives from the Major Investigation Team and local uniformed officers conducted a high visibility stop and talk operation, to speak to members of the public who may have been in the area around the time of Jordan’s murder. Around 120 people interacted with officers.

Detective Superintendent Grant Hendry, Major Investigation Team, said: "We're investigating the murder of a young man in his own home. I understand this is a concerning incident for people living in the area. I want to continue to reassure them that we have a dedicated team of specialist officers working on this, using all available resources, to trace the person responsible and get answers for Jordan's family.

"While there's a lot happening behind the scenes, it's important we keep a visible presence in the area. I'd like to thank residents for their continued support and patience as our enquiries progress.

"Information about who is responsible for Jordan's death may be known within the community. I want to again appeal to anyone who hasn't already spoken to police, and knows or has heard anything, to come forward. It doesn't matter how insignificant you feel that information is or if you think we'll already know, I’m asking you to please report it."

As well as ongoing forensic analysis, officers have gathered 1,200 hours of CCTV footage and conducted door to door enquiries, resulting in 250 questionnaires being completed and 88 letter drops seeking further information.

Enquiries continue to identify a person seen on Shields Court around 10.35pm on Sunday, 14 December. They were wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers. Anyone with information on this person is urged to contact the investigation team.

Detective Superintendent Hendry continued: “This person may have vital information which could help us get answers for Jordan’s family and trace the person responsible for his death. If you were in the area at the time and think that description matches you, please come forward. Even if it’s just so we can eliminate you from our enquiries, we want to speak to you.”

Information can also be sent directly to the investigation team.
