Man jailed for six and a half years for causing death of man in Glasgow
A man has been jailed for six and a half years for causing the death of a man in Glasgow in 2023.
Ethan O’Kane, 20, was found guilty of culpable homicide on Wednesday, 10 December, 2025, following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
He was sentenced at the same court on Friday, 23 January, 2026.
John McLardie, 68, was found injured on Victoria Road on Friday, 28 April, 2023 and taken to hospital for treatment.
He suffered serious injuries and later died on Sunday, 31 December, 2023.
Detective Inspector Gordon Walker said: “John McLardie was the victim of a shocking and unprovoked attack.
“This senseless violence had tragic consequences, and our thoughts remain with John’s family and friends who have also suffered immensely.
“When it comes to violent crimes such as these, we will use all resources necessary to carry out a rigorous investigation and ensure we track down those responsible and bring them to justice as soon as possible.”
