A man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for serious sexual assaults against two women in the Forth Valley area.

Akib Aslam, 32, was jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, 8 January, 2026, after being found guilty at the same court last month.

Aslam’s offences took place in Larbert and Hallglen between 2022 and 2023.

Detective Inspector Graeme Connolly said: “Aslam is an abusive individual who caused immense harm to his victims.

“He will now face the consequences of his despicable actions.

“Tackling this type of offending remains a priority for Police Scotland and I would encourage anyone who has experienced sexual abuse to report it to us.

"Every report is taken seriously and will be fully investigated, with support available from specially trained officers and partner agencies.”
