Man jailed following conviction for rape and violent offences in Fife

A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to four years after being convicted of rape and violent offences in the Kinglassie area of Fife.

Dylan Murray was also placed on the sex offenders register and given a lifetime non-harassment order when he appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 14 January, 2026.

He was found guilty of the crimes, which happened in January 2022, last month.

Detective Constable Alli Brown said: “Murray is an abusive, sexual predator who will now face the consequences of his despicable actions.

“Police Scotland is committed to fully investigating all reports of sexual violence - no matter who the perpetrator is or how much time has passed.

“We have specially trained officers to support victims and work with partner agencies to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”
