Man arrested following several thefts from vehicles in Troon and Ayr areas

Officers in South Ayrshire have arrested a man following enquiries into a number of thefts from vehicles in the Troon and Ayr areas.

The 49-year-old man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, 13 January, 2026.

The incidents occurred between 28 December, 2025 and 7 January, 2026.

The 49-year-old is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Stephen McGrath said: "I would like to thank the local community for their assistance in this investigation and I want to reassure them that we will continue to take action against anyone involved in acquisitive crime."
