Man and woman who died following crash on the B981 in Fife named

A woman and a man who died following a crash on the B981 between Cluny and the Chapel junction roundabout in Fife have been named.

They were Jatinder Kaur aged 48 and Satwant Singh aged 64 from the Kirkcaldy area. Their family have asked for privacy.

The incident happened around 11.10pm on Friday, 19 December, and involved a black Nissan Qashqai and a white Volkswagen Polo.

Emergency serviced attended and the driver of the Polo Jatinder Kaur was pronounced dead at the scene. Satwant Singh was taken to hospital and died on Sunday, 21 December. Two other passengers were also taken to hospital and released following treatment.

The driver of the Qashqai, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to hospital and released following treatment. She was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.

The road was closed for crash investigation work and re-opened 6.30am on Saturday, 20 December.

Sergeant Louise Beale said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of the man and woman who died. They have asked for privacy at what is a very hard time for them.

“Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who can assist who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.”
