Fatal road crash on the A75, west of Dumfries
Road Policing officers are appealing for information after a fatal crash on the A75 at the Glen, west of Dumfries on Friday, 16 January, 2026.
The crash happened around 12.50pm and involved a BMW X5.
Emergency services attended and the 54-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed to allow investigations to take place and was reopened around 9pm.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time, and our enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
"I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have seen what happened to please contact officers.
"I'd also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation."
