Attempted theft of van in West Lothian
Officers are appealing for information following the attempted theft of a van in West Lothian.
Around 10pm on Friday, 23 January, 2026, the owner of a white Ford Transit van parked his vehicle on Upper Bathville, Armadale. Around 8am the following morning he noticed the van had moved further down the street.
Enquiries carried out so far have established the van was broken into and attempts had been made to start the engine without a key.
Officers are also interested in a man who was seen in the area around midnight on Friday night. He is described as being around 5ft. 10 inches in height and wearing dark coloured clothing. He was seen heading in the direction of Station Road, Armadale.
Constable Callum Jackson said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area between 10pm and the early hours of Saturday morning, who may have seen something to contact us. I would also like to ask anyone with doorbell or dash cam recording equipment to check the footage as it could assist our investigation."
