Appeal for information following attempted murder in Glasgow
Detectives are appealing for information following an attempted murder in Glasgow.
Around 10.15pm on Thursday, 22 January, 2026, officers were called to a report of a 33-year-old man injured after a vehicle was driven at him in the Saracen Street area.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
The vehicle made off from the scene. It is described as a red SUV type vehicle.
Detective Sergeant David Whyte said: “This was a violent attack and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to trace the person responsible.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened to please contact us with any information.
“The street would have been fairly busy with passing vehicles so I would also ask drivers with dash-cams to check footage as this may assist in our enquiries. Likewise, anyone with private CCTV around this area is asked to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference 3545 of 22 January, 2026. Or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
