Appeal following wilful car fire in Wishaw
Officers are appealing for information following a wilful car fire in the Waterloo area of Wishaw.
Around 2.15am on Friday, 9 January, 2026, police were made aware of an unoccupied car on fire outside a property on Burnhall Place.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.
Detective Constable Sandy Orr said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are asking anyone with information which could assist to come forward.
"I am keen to trace two men who were seen in the area around the time of the incident. They were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered and were travelling in a grey Volkswagen Golf car.
"We would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage to review it and contact us if they have captured anything that could help our investigation.
