Appeal following two wilful fires to cars in Bothwell
Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following two wilful fires in Bothwell.
The first incident happened around 11pm on Friday, 2 January, where a car was set on fire on Baillie Drive. The second incident happened at the same location where another car was set on fire around 10.50pm on Monday, 5 January, 2026.
On both occasions, emergency services attended and the fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.
These fires are being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “These were reckless acts and I am appealing to anyone with any information or who noticed anything suspicious to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash-cam, private CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could assist to get in touch.”
