Appeal following serious crash on Princes Street, Dundee

Officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on Princes Street, Dundee.

Around 1.20pm on Monday, 5 January, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving a blue Ford Tourneo Connect Freedom and a pedestrian who had just alighted from a bus on Princes Street.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment to what were described as serious injuries.

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to take place and re-opened around 5.50pm.

Constable Andrew Masterton, Dundee Road Policing Unit said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
