Appeal following serious crash on Alexander Street, Dundee

Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Dundee.

Around 6.50pm on Saturday, 17 January, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a male pedestrian on Alexander Street, Dundee.

Emergency services attended and the 69-year-old male pedestrian was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and re-opened around 2.30am on Sunday, 18 January, 2026.

Sergeant David Farr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
