Appeal following serious crash in Glasgow

Officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Glasgow.

Around 8.45pm on Thursday, 22 January, a silver Honda Civic failed to stop for officers on Blawarthill Street, Garscadden.

A short time later, the car was involved in a crash with a cyclist on Spiershall Close.

Emergency services attended and the cyclist, a 52-year-old man, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car did not stop at the scene and the vehicle was later found abandoned on Mellerstain Drive.

Sergeant Neal Galbraith said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to trace the driver and establish the full circumstances of the incident.

"I would ask anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the vehicle in the area, or has any relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage from around the time, to come forward.

"In particular, I would ask residents I the Mellerstain Road area to check any ring doorbell footage the may have, as this could be of assistance to our enquiries."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3331 of 22 January, 2026.
