Appeal following serious assault in Bellshill
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Bellshill.
Around 11.15pm on Tuesday, 6 January, a 34-year-old man was walking along Reema Road toward Hattonrigg Road when he was approached by another man and assaulted. The suspect then left the area in the direction of Bairdsland View.
The 34-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment to serious injuries.
The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, approximately 5ft 9ins tall, of a slim build, with dark-coloured crew cut hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a black North Face skip cap, a dark-coloured Mintriex tracksuit and light grey and black trainers. He spoke with a Scottish accent.
Detective Constable Adele Johnston said: "This incident left a man with serious injuries and our enquiries are ongoing to trace the man responsible.
"I would urge anyone who witnessed the assault, or who saw a man matching this description in the area around the time, to contact police.
