Appeal following housebreakings in Buckie

Officers are appealing for information after multiple housebreakings in Buckie.

A premises on Cluny Place was broken into between 5pm and 7.50pm on Thursday, 22 January.

Between the evening of Thursday, 22 January and 8.50am on Friday, 23 January, a shop on East Church Street was broken into.

A quantity of items, including charity tins, were taken.

A garage on New Street was broken into between 4pm on Thursday, 22 January and 12pm on Friday, 23 January.

Nothing was taken but a car window was damaged.

We also received a report of a housebreaking at a garage site on Gordon Street which is believed to have taken place overnight between Thursday, 22 January and Friday, 23 January.

Officers are treating these incidents as linked.

Constable Kieran Cooley said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in these areas at the times of the incidents and who saw something suspicious to get in touch with officers.

"I’d also ask that those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.

“I would like to remind residents to be vigilant and mindful of home security. Keep all windows and doors locked and consider installing doorbell cameras, security cameras and alarms.

“Additional security advice is available on the Police Scotland website, and we’d urge the community to report suspicious activity to the police as soon as possible.”
