Appeal following break-in and damage caused to business premises in Musselburgh

Detectives are appealing for information following a break-in and damage caused at a business premises in Musselburgh.

The incident happened between 11.35pm on Wednesday, 31 December, 2025, and 12.30am on Thursday, 1 January, 2026, at an industrial estate on Eskmills Road.

Two people forced entry to the premises and extensive damage was caused within.

The first suspect is described as male and was wearing dark Adidas trousers with white stripes, a dark-coloured top, a face covering and a coloured scarf around his neck. He was also wearing safety goggles, dark gloves, dark shoes and carrying a large rucksack.

The second suspect is described as male and was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, dark trousers, a face covering and a light-coloured scarf. He was also wearing dark gloves, dark shoes and carrying a large rucksack.

Detective Chief Inspector David McAlinden said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone in the vicinity or surrounding areas who noticed anything suspicious on New Year’s Eve or on the days leading up to it to contact police as soon as possible.

“We are also keen to speak to anyone who may have private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage as this may assist in establishing the circumstances and movements of those involved.”
