Appeal after three break-ins in Kirkwall area of Orkney

Detectives in Orkney are appealing for information after three break-ins reported overnight between Monday, 5 January, and Tuesday, 6 January, in the Kirkwall area.

Between 7.30pm and 7.30am a distillery on Holm Road was broken into, although no property was stolen.

Between 4pm and 8.15am entry was forced into Ortak Jewellery on Garrison Road and several items have been reported missing.

Between 3pm and 9am there was an attempted break-in at a primary school on Willow Road.

Detective Sergeant Scott Walker said: “These are worrying incidents for the local community, and I want to reassure them we are following several lines of enquiry. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact us. If you have any relevant CCTV or doorbell footage from the relevant time frames, then please also get in touch.”
