Appeal after flatbed vans set on fire at business park in Dumfries

Detectives are appealing for information following wilful fires to a number of vehicles in Dumfries.

The incidents happened between 9pm and 11pm on Tuesday, 6 January, near to Cargen Tower at the Garroch Business Park.

Four Iveco flatbed vans were set on fire and another nearby was also damaged.

Emergency services attended and the fires were put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.

Detective Constable Christopher Trosh said: “These fires are being treated as wilful and an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing for any witnesses who were near the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious. In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage which may have captured any vehicles coming and going from the area, is asked to contact police.”
