Further appeal following death of cyclist near Inverness
Officers are continuing to appeal for information following the death of a man on the B9006 at Westhill near Inverness.
The incident happened around 8.45am on Saturday, 30 August, 2025, when a man came off a turquoise Bianchi pedal bike.
The cyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he died a short time later. He has been named as 72-year-old David MacKenzie from Inverness.
The road was closed and reopened around 11.30am.
Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr MacKenzie at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.
“We would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to get in touch.”
The family have asked that their privacy is respected.
