Appeal for information after vehicles damaged in Halbeath and Dunfermline
Officers in Dunfermline are continuing their enquiries and appealing for any information following reports of vandalism after a number of vehicles were damaged.
Since Monday, 11 August, 2025, there have been five reports of cars and buses damaged in the Halbeath and east Dunfermline areas. The damage has been caused by youths throwing stones at the vehicles as they pass.
The incidents have taken place at Fife Leisure Park, Linburn Road, Sanderling Way and Duncan Crescent.
Sergeant Fraser Simpson said: “Fortunately, in each of these incidents there were no reports of anyone injured, however, there is every chance that this mindless and irresponsible vandalism could have had far more serious consequences.
“We are carrying out regular patrols in these areas and we would urge anyone with any information that may assist to please contact us.
“Local officers are continuing to engage with local youths and work with our partner agencies to address antisocial behaviour as well as speaking to young people about the dangers and consequences of this.
“We would ask the local community to please support us. If you see this type of reckless behaviour, or youths congregating and causing a disturbance, then please report it to us at the time so we can investigate. Speak to officers on patrol or contact us through 101 with any information or concerns. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
