Appeal following wilful fire-raising in Airdrie

Officers are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Airdrie.

Around 11.50pm on Sunday, 14 September, 2025, we received a report of a blue Citroen DS3 and a black Range Rover on fire on Carlisle Road.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Scott Brown said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this incident.

“I am appealing for anyone who has any information which could assist to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dash cam or private CCTV to contact us.”
