Man sentenced for sexual and violent offending against women in Fife

A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexual and violent offences against women.

William Davidson was found guilty of offences including rape, indecent assaults, and serious assaults, following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh on 8 August, 2025.

The offences took place in the Fife area between 1999 and 2023.

Davidson was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Thursday, 25 September, 2025.

Detective Inspector Frank Keegan said: “Davidson is a violent, sexual predator, who now faces the consequences of his depraved actions.

“Our thoughts remain with the woman and I hope this sentencing brings them some sense of closure.
