Woman found guilty of killing 97-year-old man in Dundee
A woman has been convicted of killing a 97-year-old man in Dundee in 2024.
Tandy Swinton, 44, was found guilty of culpable homicide at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, 21 October, 2025.
Around 5pm on Monday, 15 April, 2024, officers were called to a property in Dryburgh Gardens, following a reported assault and attempted robbery of 97-year-old William Lambie.
Lambie was taken to Ninewells Hospital to receive treatment for his serious injuries, and subsequently died on Saturday, 25 May, 2024.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Kelly said: “This was a senseless crime, which took the life of a much-loved man trying to defend his own home.
“Swinton will now face the consequences of her violent and reckless actions.
“While nothing can change what has happened, I hope that this conviction brings at least a degree of closure to William Lambie’s relatives and friends, who our thoughts remain with at this time.”
“Police Scotland remains committed to ensuring that those responsible for such violent crimes are identified and brought to justice.”
She will be sentenced at a later date.
