Pair convicted following murder in Rutherglen

Two men have been convicted of the murder of Stuart McGeachie who died in Rutherglen in 2023.
At the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, 27 October, Callum Cummins-Summers, 29, was convicted following a trial.
Part way through the trial, on Wednesday, 22 October, 2025, Craig McColl, 24, pled guilty to murder.
The pair are expected to be sentenced on Wednesday, 19 November, 2025.
Mr McGeachie was assaulted outside a premises on Farmeloan Road in October 2023 before making his way to a nearby flat where he was pronounced dead.
He had been stabbed with a machete.
Detective Superintendent John Morrison said: “It has been just over two years since this murder took place and Mr McGeachie lost his life. Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this time.
“Mr McGeachie was subjected to horrific levels of violence and suffered a fatal stab injury that cost him his life.
“Violence and the use of weapons has no place in society. I’d like to commend the work of officers who conducted a thorough investigation which has resulted in Cummins-Summers and McColl being convicted of their actions.”
