Drugs recoveries in Stornoway and Barra
As part of ongoing enforcement activity in the Western Isles, officers have searched properties and recovered drugs with an estimated street value of over £87,000.
On Friday, 17 October, 2025, officers attended a property on Barra and recovered cannabis plants with an estimated street value of around £7,200.
A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
On Monday, 20 October, 2025, search warrants were executed at two addresses in Stornoway, however, no-one has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.
On Friday, 24 October, officers attended a property on Seaforth Road, Stornoway. Cocaine with an estimated street value of £80,000 was recovered and enquiries are ongoing.
Chief Inspector Ross McCartney said: “These recoveries highlight our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities. They also underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the drugs trade and preventing their manufacture and distribution.
