Car stolen from Bothwell
Officers are appealing for information after a car was stolen from Bothwell.
Between 10pm on Monday, 29 September, 2025 and 5am on Tuesday, 30 September, 2025, a blue Ford Fiesta ST with the registration number DA15 XXK was stolen from outside a house on Hillcrest Terrace.
Sergeant Stewart McDonald said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the Hillcrest Terrace area between these times to consider if they noticed anything unusual or suspicious. If you have any information regarding this theft, please contact us.
“With sophisticated methods such as keyless car thefts, it is increasingly important that car owners review their own vehicle security and take a few extra precautions to support preventing these crimes.
“There are few simple things you can do to avoid becoming of a victim. When you are at home, keep your car keys or fobs away from the car, don’t leave them near your doors or windows. The use of a signal blocking pouch, also know as a Faraday pouch or box can block the transmission of the signal from the car key.
“Using a steering lock can also be an effective deterrent and if you have a garage, we strongly suggest using it to secure your vehicle out of sight.
“Vehicle trackers and tracking devices are also a form of additional security and can assist recovering stolen cars quickly.”
