Appeal following disturbance on A709 near Lockerbie
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a disturbance on the A709 near Lockerbie.
The incident involved a white panel van and a silver Hyundai Ioniq 5, and took place around 12.30pm on Tuesday, 21 October, 2025, on the road between Lockerbie and Shillahill bridge.
The driver of the van overtook the Hyundai, stopped and got out of the van, and caused damage to the Hyundai by hitting the driver door.
The driver of the Hyundai subsequently reported the incident to police.
Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver of the van, who is described as male, aged in his mid-30s, around 5ft 9ins, of stocky build with light ginger hair and a short beard.
He was wearing a beige t shirt, grey shorts and black trainers.
Constable Lawrence Nelson said: “I am asking any member of the public who witnessed the incident, or who have any dash cam footage of the area at the time, to contact Police Scotland quoting reference number 1423 of 21 October.”
