Appeal after three people assaulted at Old Firm match
We are appealing for information after three assaults before, during and after the Celtic vs Rangers football match at Hampden Stadium on Sunday, 2 November, 2025.
Around 12pm, a 51-year-old man was assaulted on Victoria Road by a man wearing a black jacket, black hat and black trousers.
Around 4pm, paramedics were called to the lower tier of the West Stand to treat an injured man. Whilst in attendance, an 49-year-old member of staff was assaulted and treated at the scene.
The suspect is described as male, white, of slim build, with brown hair and was wearing black clothing.
Around 5pm on Battlefield Road, near to Mount Florida Railway Station, a 18-year-old man was assaulted by around 12 masked individuals.
He was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres for treatment.
Superintendent Paul Douglas said: "All of these vile assaults were unprovoked and left the victims terrified.
“It is completely unacceptable that someone simply doing their job or someone simply walking home has been injured due to violence. We will use the full extent of our powers to hold those responsible to account.
"We are looking for anyone who witnessed either of these assaults, or anyone with relevant CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage, to please contact us.
"Anyone with information should contact 101, quoting references 0814 of 2 November, 2025."
