Two people arrested and charged following drugs recovery on M74
Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a drugs recovery on the M74.
Around 8.20pm on Wednesday, 12 November, 2025, officers acting on intelligence stopped a car travelling northbound near Lockerbie.
Quantities of cocaine, heroin and cannabis with an estimated street value of £77,500 were seized.
A 47-year-old man and 39-year-old woman are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliott said: “These arrests underline our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy. Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities, and the public has a vital role in helping us to trace those involving in the supply of illegal substances.
