Two men pled guilty to murder in Greenock
Two men have pled guilty to murdering a man in Greenock.

Alexander McQuillan (pictured) pled guilty of the murder of Michael Beaton on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, at Glasgow High Court. Richard Mullan previously pled guilty at Glasgow High Court on Monday, 11 November, 2024.
They will be sentenced at a later date.
Around 7.20pm on Sunday, 26 November, 2023, officers were called to a report of a man having been seriously injured on Drumfrochar Road. Michael was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where he died.
Detective Chief Inspector Graham McCreadie said: “This was a shocking and violent attack which has resulted in the death of a man. McQuillan and Mullan will now face the consequences of their actions.
“Our thoughts remain with Michael’s family and I hope the convictions bring them some level of comfort.
“Violent incident such as this are not tolerated and officers will continue to work to bring those responsible to justice.”
