Man who died in crash on A7 near Langholm named

A man who died in a crash on the A7 near Langholm has been named as Sam Cropper from Newcastleton.
The crash took place around 11.35am on Tuesday, 4 November, near Briery Bank, and involved a green Toyota Hilux and a white Scania HGV.
The driver of the Hilux, 36-year-old Sam, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, a 55-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Medical staff describe his condition as stable.
The driver of the white Scania HGV was not injured.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and was fully reopened around 11.55pm.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts remain with Sam’s family and friends at this difficult time, as well as the man who suffered serious injuries.
"We continue to carry out extensive enquiries into this crash and I’d appeal to anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.”
