Man who died following crash on A7 near Langholm named

A man who died following a crash on the A7 near Langholm has been named as Thomas Edgar.

Around 2.35pm on Saturday, 15 November, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a motorbike on the road between Middleholm and Skippers Bridge.

Emergency services attended and 71-year-old Thomas was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died before arriving.

Inspector Bob McNay said: “Our thoughts are with Thomas’ family and friends at this difficult time”.

“Our enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information or dashcam footage should contact police on 101 quoting incident 1724 of 15 November.”
