A man has been sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for the attempted murder of a 51-year-old man in Glasgow.
Stephen McAulay, 35, pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on Wednesday, 15 October, 2025, and was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, 18 November, 2025.
On Monday, 13 May, 2024, McAulay attacked the man with a knife on Moorfoot Street, leaving him with multiple serious injuries.
Detective Inspector Gary Cassidy said: “McAulay’s actions were extremely violent and have had a profound and lasting impact on the victim. He will now face the consequences of this appalling attack.
“I hope this sentence sends a clear message that such violence is completely unacceptable.
“Police Scotland remains committed to thoroughly investigating all incidents of serious violence and ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.”
