We are asking residents and vehicle owners to be vigilant following reports of break-ins and car thefts in East Lothian.
Overnight on Tuesday, 25 November, 2025, we received reports of housebreakings and attempted housebreakings at properties in Gullane, Dunbar, North Berwick and Haddington.
A black Skoda Octavia was taken from Narni Way in Dunbar, and a bronze Range Rover and a blue Volkswagen T-Roc were stolen from Hill Road in Gullane.
Detective Sergeant Steven Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish if any of these incidents might be linked, but we strongly urge the public to ensure security measures are in place to try to protect vehicles.
“If you have a garage, please use it to secure your vehicle out of sight. Ensure your vehicle is locked and all valuables removed when not in use.
“Trackers and tracking devices are also a form of additional security and can assist recovering stolen cars quickly.
“We also advise residents to take measures to protect their home by keeping their property locked, closing windows, and considering the installation of CCTV or doorbell cameras.
“Keep valuables and car keys out of sight and have security lights fitted if possible.
“If you witness any suspicious activity, please contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
