Appeal following wilful vehicle fire in Cumbernauld
Detectives are appealing for information after a wilful vehicle fire in Cumbernauld.
The incident happened around 11.30pm on Sunday, 9 November, 2025 when a white Suzuki Alto was set on fire on Langlands Place.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no injuries were reported.
Detective Constable Niccolo Gamberi said: “Thankfully no one was hurt during this incident however, it could’ve ended much worse if the fire had spread to vehicles parked nearby.
“I am appealing to anyone in the area who has private CCTV or dash-cam footage to please review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.
“In addition, anyone who has yet to speak to officers and witnessed the incident is asked to get in touch.”
