Appeal following wilful fire in Blantyre

Police are appealing for information following a wilful fire in Blantyre.

Around 1.55am on Wednesday, 19 November, 2025, we received a report of a fire at a property on Nursery Place.

Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

One woman was taken to hospital for treatment and later released.

The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “This was a reckless act and I am appealing to anyone with any information to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.”
