Appeal following wilful fire in Ashgill
Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful fire-raising in Ashgill.
The incident was reported around 1.55am on Sunday, 16 November, 2025, when a recreational ground was set on fire on Ashgillhead Road.
The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and no injuries were reported.
Enquiries so far have shown a black hatchback style vehicle leaving the scene at the time of the incident.
Detective Constable Alex Murray said: “Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident, but it has left considerable damage.
“I am appealing to anyone in the area who has private CCTV or dash-cam footage to review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our enquiries.
“Additionally, anyone who saw a black hatchback style vehicle in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact officers.”
