Appeal following two-vehicle crash on A74(M), Johnstonebridge
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a two-vehicle crash on the A74(M), Johnstonebridge.
It happened around 1pm on Tuesday, 11 November, 2025, on the southbound carriageway near the Annan Bank Overbridge.
The 23-year-old male driver of the black Seat Leon was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
The 48-year-old male driver of the white Tesla was taken by road ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The road was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened around 9pm.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “I’m appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or saw either vehicle before the collision, to come forward.
“I’d also ask drivers with dash-cams to review any footage of the area around the time to see if you have captured something which may assist our investigation.
“Members of the public are thanked for their patience yesterday. We appreciate this caused delays on the road network, however it was essential to ensure the safety of officers and other road users while enquiries were carried out.”
