Appeal following serious assault in Largs
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Largs.
The incident happened between 7pm and 8pm on Sunday, 16 November, 2025 outside a premises on Main Street, Largs near to the taxi rank.
A 63-year-old man was assisting a member of the public when he was approached by another man and seriously assaulted.
The male suspect is described as around 5ft 8ins tall, with dark hair, aged in his early to mid-twenties and was wearing dark clothing.
The 63-year-old man attended hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
Detective Constable Martine Armstrong said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack on the man who has been left with serious injuries as a result.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to identify the man responsible, and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have information to come forward.
“In addition, we’d ask those that have private CCTV or dash-cam footage to review this to see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.”
