Appeal following break-in in Dumbarton
We are appealing for information following a housebreaking in Dumbarton on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
Around 8.30pm, thieves broke into a construction site on Hawthornhill Road and stole electric power tools with an estimated value of £2500.
Detective Constable Darren Boag, West Dunbartonshire CID, said: "From our investigation so far, we know that two men forced entry to the Persimmon Homes construction site and stole the tools that were stored within a house under construction on site. One of the suspect left carrying a shoulder strap backpack with the tools within.
"The thieves are both described as slim, wearing dark clothing, jogging bottoms and trainers. One was wearing a hooded jumper, and the other a hooded waterproof jacket."
DC Boag continued: "The site is on a main road, is near shops and backs onto residential housing, so we'd appeal to anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9pm, who has dashcam or doorbell footage, or indeed who saw anything suspicious to contact police via 101 quoting reference number 1415 of Wednesday, 5 November 2025. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
