Appeal after gas canister fell from vehicle on M90 near Bridge of Earn

Officers are appealing for information after a gas canister fell from a vehicle on the M90.

The incident took place around 10.50am on Wednesday, 12 November, 2025, on the northbound lane near Bridge of Earn.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed while the item was recovered. It fully reopened around 12.20pm.

Constable Mathew Ross said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and to trace the vehicle involved.

“I am asking anyone who was travelling on that part of the M90 at the time and saw anything to get in touch. Similarly, any drivers with dash-cam footage which may have captured what happened should contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0917 of 12 November.
