Youths arrested and charged in connection with Taransay Street wilful fire
Two youths have been arrested and charged in connection with a wilful fire on Taransay Street in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to reports of a bike on fire around 10.30pm on Wednesday, 30 April, 2025. The fire then spread to an electrical substation.
It was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of injuries.
Around 500 properties were affected by a loss of power while work was undertaken to repair the damage.
The males, aged 15 and 16, are due to appear in court at a later date.
Sergeant Clark said: “This incident had a significant impact on the area and I’d like to thank the local community for their patience and assistance during our enquires.
“Such reckless acts will not be tolerated and we’ll fully investigate all reports to identify those responsible and take appropriate action.”
