Update - Fatal Road Crash - B874, Wick

With reference to our release issued on Thursday, 1 May 2025, regarding a fatal road crash on the B874 near to Watten Cemetery, Wick, on Wednesday, 30 April, 2025, please note that the motorcyclist who died in the crash has been named as Luc Trainer, 18, from the Newton area of Wick. His relatives are aware. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay, Road Policing Unit, Dingwall, said:

"We are supporting Luc's family at this very difficult time. They are very much in our thoughts.

"If you have any information that may assist officers with their investigation, please call 101 quoting incident number 4119 of Wednesday, 30 April, 2025."

An 18-year-old man has been arrested following the crash. He has been released pending further enquiries.
