Paul Proctor jailed for six years for non-recent sexual offences
A 61-year-old man has been jailed for six years after being convicted of non-recent sexual offending.
Paul Proctor was sentenced to six years, backdated to February 2025, at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 14 May, 2025.
He carried out the offending towards a female child in Fife in 1995.
He was reported to police in October 2020 and an investigation was launched. He was arrested in May 2021 and convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday, 13 February, 2025.
Detective Sergeant Ross French from Fife Public Protection Unit said "Paul Proctor is a callous predator and he is now being held accountable for his depraved actions.
"Had it not been for the strength of his victim and other significant witnesses, his crimes may have gone unpunished. I hope that knowing he is now behind bars will offer them some sort of solace.
"This case also highlights how time is no barrier for us when investigating sexual crimes. If you have ever been subjected to any such offences, then please come forward and report it. You can be assured of being fully supported by specialist officers and our partner agencies."
