Appeal for information following serious crash in Ayr
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Ayr.
The incident happened around 7.30pm on Wednesday, 14 May, 2025, on Beresford Terrace at its junction with Parkhouse Street involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.
The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man, was arrested in connection and later released pending further enquiries.
Constable Ashleigh MacLachlan, Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
“I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash who hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
