Appeal for information following serious assault in East Kilbride
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in East Kilbride.
The incident happened around 1.25pm on Monday, 19 May, 2025, at a property on Wilson Place.
Emergency services attended and two men, aged 45 and 41, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Extensive investigations are ongoing and officers are carrying out enquiries to trace three male suspects. They are described as wearing dark clothing and face coverings.
On the same day, we were made aware of a vehicle fire, which happened around 9.15pm. Officers were called to the Boswell Drive area of Blantyre where a blue Audi A5 had been deliberately set on fire. It was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no injuries.
Officers are treating the two incidents as linked.
Detective Superintendent Martin McGhee said: “We believe this was a targeted incident. From our enquiries so far, we believe the car that was set on fire was also used in the earlier serious assault.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed either of these incidents to contact us as soon as possible. In addition, anyone who has CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist our enquiries.
"We understand these incidents will be concerning for the local community but please be assured we will bring those involved to justice.”
