Appeal for information following incidents in Galashiels and Hawick
Officers in the Borders are appealing for information following a series of incidents in the Galashiels and Hawick areas.
Around 3.20am on Friday, 16 May, officers received a report of a dark blue Land Rover having collided with two parked vehicles in the Wilson Drive area of Hawick. The vehicle was later found abandoned by officers in the Sleepy Valley Park area of the town. Following enquiries, officers confirmed the Land Rover had been stolen from outside a property in the Stable Gardens area of Galashiels.
Around 8.20am, on the same date, police received a report of an attempt housebreaking which had taken place overnight in the Queen Elizabeth Square area of Galashiels.
Officers believe the incidents may be linked.
Detective Constable Nicky Batten said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in any of these areas to contact us.
"We'd also be keen to hear from anyone who may have private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation."
